we learnt about how to use COOP TEACHING STRATEGY. The first time, Dr. Prema show a word with the meaning, student asked to pay attention and write down in the paper every word that we do not understand for the meaning or description. after that we come to the person next to us in a group and then one by one try show the paper with the word and asking the meaning. we do it in reversed until all of us can understand every single words given in the class. This strategy is best for learning a language or any given new word that we do not know the meaning or the expression.
THIS IS THE STEPS OF COOP LEARNING STRATEGY
- The teacher gives a pre-test on the lesson (vocabulary, memory verses, etc.)
- The teacher provides the answers and students check their own answers.
- On note cards or slips of papers, students write the data on the items they missed (for each item, a separate card/paper is used).
- Using Turn to Your Neighbor, each student gives his/her set of cards/papers to the neighbour who will teach the items. This goes on till all the answers are learned when the cards/papers are won back. The process is switched with the one who taught taking the role of the student who learns the items he/she missed.
- When the whole class is through with the procedure, the teacher gives a post-test. Students generally perform very well indicating that they learned the items through peer teaching.
