Taba Inductive Strategy
By looking at specific items and making generalization
Taba Inductive
- Originated by Hilda Taba
- The main goal is inductive thinking
The Steps
Phase 1:Concept Formation
- Give the students the data set (at times students may bring their own data set)
- Classify the data set into groups looking at common attributes
- Name the groups
Phase 2: Interpretation
Students :
- Compare the groups of data set identifying the similarities and differences
- Explore the relationships between them
Phase 3: Application
- Look for concepts that emerge: Ask what does this mean?
- Make hypotheses and predictions: What would happen if . . .
- Find how the items are useful in life.
