ROLE PLAYING

The Purpose:

To enhance and analyze social values and abilities through dramatizations of critical social situations

The Procedure:

• Phase 1: Encourage/warm-up the group
• Phase 2: Select the participants
• Phase 3: Set the scene
• Phase 4: Prepare the observers
• Phase 5: Carry out the role play
• Phase 6: Discuss and evaluate

Some Guidelines

1. Do not rehearse a role play.
2. Avoid forced participation.
3. Make discussion and evaluation (the final step), the most important learning experience.
