JOURNAL 1– FIRST JOURNEY TO THINK ABOUT…

What I have learned in the Class

Today, the teacher gave a description about the stage of Jewish education. It is really interesting to me to found about these things such as Beth Saphar (house of the book) : 6-10 Years, Beth Midrash (house of learning) : 10-14 years, Beth Talmud (becoming a disciple) : 14 years and above. And I newly know that the method used for learning-teaching in the time of Jesus is questioning a question from the teacher not answering a question of the teachers.

Today, I also learnt from the method of teaching that used by Dr. Prema in the class. By raising a red card to ask a question to the teacher with the red card, in the discussion with the classmate by holding the signaling marker which means that we done in discussion. Also, the method to make the class silent or to take attention of the students, the teacher will raise her hand and followed by the other students to raise their hands and become silent and pay attention to the teacher—its amazing method.

What I like Improved

I want to improve my skill to be like Jesus in teaching, “Yes we can” this is what the teacher repetely said today. Especially in relating truths more colorfull to the children.  I also want to improve my motivation to be more intimately to the students with their life to be changed by following Jesus’ example. So religion or bible not just only become an object to study but it can become the long life changing journey to become like HIM.

I also want to improved my skill in making lesson plans and unit plans for my micro teaching.—I was so lucky in attending this class and study from the expert. God richly bless you, Dr. Prema Gaikwad
